M&S is planning to relocate from its existing St Martin’s Walk store and open a brand-new 15,000 sq ft fresh market-style food store on Vincent Lane in Dorking, as part of a wider multi-million-pound investment in Surrey.

The future move, which would deliver a food store triple the size of the existing M&S Food offer at St Martin’s Walk, would see colleagues transfer across to the new site in line with the closure of the existing store.

Inside the new showstopping food store, customers would find M&S’ latest in-store features including bakery & coffee counter, fresh market specials from M&S Select Farms and dedicated Flower and Wine Shops.

The full M&S Food range would be available from the new site, including the latest product launches, alongside a dedicated Click & Collect point for online orders.

The Dorking plans build on M&S’ announcement of two new food store coming to Surrey in 2026, in the former Farnham and Godalming Homebase sites.

At 22,000 sq ft, Godalming will be M&S’ largest standalone food store to date when it opens in Summer 2026. Both stores are expected to create over 130 new jobs.

Carl Flanagan, Regional Manager at M&S, said: “We’re excited to share more details about our planned multi-million-pound investment to relocate and guarantee a future for M&S in Dorking. We want to offer the community here the very best of M&S and at Vincent Lane, we have the opportunity to create a truly showstopping store.
Our nationwide store rotation programme is all about delivering the best possible shopping experience and so across Surrey, customers can expect the trusted value, unbeatable quality and innovation we’re known for. We look forward to working with Mole Valley District Council and the community on the plans.”

M&S has over 40 owned and convenience stores across Surrey and works with several local Select Farm partners and suppliers across the county.
