Marks & Spencer (M&S) is demonstrating its commitment to developing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals by sponsoring Cyber College Cymru at Cardiff & Vale College. As part of this sponsorship, the M&S Cyber Security team will deliver a series of practical, hands-on workshops designed to equip students with the vital skills needed for a successful career in cybersecurity to help address the UK’s cyber skills shortage.
Through this partnership, M&S’s Cyber Security colleagues will provide expert instruction to a cohort of twenty-one students at Cardiff & Vale College. The programme will consist of ten weekly workshops throughout February and March.
The workshops will cover a range of critical cybersecurity topics, including Windows and Linux investigations, network security fundamentals, and incident response. Students will also engage in self-learning challenges focusing on Microsoft Security and ethical hacking, as well as participate in challenge days designed to simulate real-world scenarios.
Steve Cottrell, Chief Information Security Officer, Marks and Spencer commented: The demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals is greater than ever. M&S is proud to sponsor Cyber College Cymru and contribute to addressing this critical need. By providing hands-on training and real-world insights, we aim to equip students with the practical skills they need to succeed and prepare for rewarding cybersecurity careers”
