Find out more about our approach to managing chemicals in our Clothing & Home supply chain
We are restless in our aim to improve things for the better. We work closely with our suppliers to develop high quality and innovative products that are only available at M&S.
We operate rigorous quality management systems which have been developed with our suppliers. These operate on a precautionary principle and are supported by a range of on-site audits and product testing. Suppliers are required to meet a range of quality, safety, environmental and social standards.
Our Environmental and Chemical Policy can be found here
We are a signatory to Textiles 2030, a voluntary agreement which launched in April 2021, funded by its signatories and government. Signatories will collaborate on carbon, water and circular textile targets, and also contribute to national policy discussions with UK governments to shape Extender Producer Responsibility and other critical regulatory developments.
Circular Fashion Partnership
We have joined the Circular Fashion Partnership in collaboration with Global Fashion Agenda. This is a new initiative to capture and reuse textile waste in Bangladesh by bringing major brands, manufacturers and recycles together to find successful circular processes that reduce textile waste and distribute value throughout the value cycle, generating economic benefits in Bangladesh by accelerating the fibre recycling market.
