Marks and Spencer will not conduct or commission any tests on animals. All M&S own brand cosmetic and household products and ingredients must be approved by the BUAV under the Humane Cosmetics Standard, The Leaping Bunny Standard. This standard has been in place since March 2013.
The use of animal derived product must be avoided in cosmetic and toiletry products and gift items.
All M&S own brand items must meet as a minimum requirement suitability for vegetarians. It is not a mandatory requirement that products must be suitable for vegans but is expected wherever it is feasible.
Where products from animals are used as a component or trim/accessory sourcing must be conducted humanely and compliant with the M&S Clothing & Home Animal Welfare Policy.
