M&S has announced the roll out its Sparks coffee rewards programme across the UK following a successful trial in Scotland and Wales.
Available exclusively through Sparks on the M&S App, customers are rewarded for purchasing hot drinks at the M&S Café – with every seventh drink completely free.
The scheme was rolled out to customers across the UK on Saturday 26 February and is the latest example of how M&S is continually boosting the rewards in its Sparks loyalty programme for its 14m+ members.
Discovering the M&S Café
M&S sells over 36m hot drinks a year (c. 100k every day), making it one of the largest vendors in the UK. From its estate of 339 cafés across the country, M&S’ café ranges offer something for everyone from those on the go to others taking a quick break in their local store.
From Saturday 26th February, M&S is extending rewards across all its cafes so that every customer will be able to track their hot drinks purchases within the M&S App and enjoy a free reward after every six drinks.
Whether its a Classic Cappucino made using M&S’s Fairtrade coffee beans, or a Fully Loaded Hot Chocolate, all barista-made drinks are included in this offer. And with refill discounts for customers’ who bring their own refill cups there are even more savings are to be had for savvy customers.
M&S first trialled Sparks Coffee Rewards back in August with a select group of M&S Café customers, before extending the trial to all stores in Scotland & Wales in January.
Jenny McPartlin, Store Manager for our Glasgow Argyle Street said on the trial: “Sparks Coffee rewards launched at our store at the start of January and our customers have taken to it really well. They appreciate being rewarded with a nice little bonus every six drinks – which is perfect for our regular customers who visit us every day for their morning coffee fix“

As a digital first scheme, the Sparks hub is entirely hosted on the M&S App and downloading and using the App every time customers shop with M&S is the easiest way to make the most of the scheme. The more customers’ shop the better and more personalised the treats and offers become and through the M&S App, everyone can easily find their Sparks benefits and ensure they never miss their rewards and treats.

Sparks Coffee Rewards: how it works:
- Customers download the M&S App to their device and log in to Sparks. Simply scan the QR code on display in all M&S Cafes to add Sparks Coffee Rewards to your Sparks hub.
- Customers will collect stamps every time they purchase a barista-made drink in an M&S Café.
- After purchasing six barista-made drinks and collecting six stamps, customers will receive a free hot drink reward in their Sparks hub.
- All barista-made drinks are included in this offer. Bottled drinks do not count.
About Sparks:
- After listening to our customers, we relaunched Sparks in July 2020 as a digital first loyalty scheme, with the customer promise that good things happen every time you shop. - More than 7 million new customers have joined Sparks, taking the member base to over 14m.
- More than £2m has been raised for customers’ chosen Sparks charities this year and over £10m since launch
- 82k customers have won their shopping for free (includings Mr & Mrs Jarvis to-be at our Milton Keynes store who won £3400 worth of furniture for their new house.)
