- M&S is reaffirming its commitment to British farmers by investing in lower prices on selected British beef, lamb and pork products
- M&S will bring family favourites like Diced British Beef, Lamb Mince and British Pork Sausages into its Remarksable value range, lowering prices by up to 26%
- This is an investment from M&S with no drop in payments to farmers - M&S will continue to pay farmers the same price through its long-term partnerships
- There will be no change to the products - they are the same products at the same exceptional quality you’d expect from M&S, just at a lower price
- The investment forms part of M&S' wider strategy to make it easier for customers to do more of their weekly shop at M&S while supporting British agriculture
M&S Food is making high-quality British meat even better value for customers, with a new investment to make selected family favourite British beef, lamb and pork products more affordable. The investment will see prices of Diced British Beef (500g) fall to ÂŁ6.00 from ÂŁ7.00; British Lamb Mince (400g) reduce to ÂŁ5.60 from ÂŁ6.20 and British Pork Sausages fall to ÂŁ2.00 from ÂŁ2.60.
The investment will make it easier for customers to choose British meat, supporting the farmers who produce it. M&S sources only 100% British beef and lamb and is making this investment while maintaining the long-term partnerships that give farmers confidence to invest in their businesses and plan for the future.
The move forms part of M&S' wider investment in trusted value, making more shopping list essentials affordable without compromising on quality, sourcing standards or animal welfare. Remarksable Value offers everyday staples benchmarked against competitor prices while maintaining the same market-leading M&S quality customers expect.
At a time when British farmers are facing growing competition from imported meat, M&S continues to strengthen its support for UK agriculture through long-term supplier relationships and its Plan A for Farming strategy. M&S sources 100% British across beef, lamb, chicken, pork and eggs, helping provide confidence and stability for British farming communities while making it easier for customers to choose British.
M&S has long-term strategic agreements in place with key British meat suppliers, including 10-year partnerships with ABP and Dunbia. These partnerships support consistent quality, high animal welfare standards and long-term investment across British farming. For sausages, M&S also has a long-term partnership with Cranswick, further reinforcing its commitment to British agriculture.
Alex Freudmann, Managing Director of M&S Food, said: "British farmers play a vital role in producing the high-quality food our customers expect, and we're committed to backing them for the long term. That's why we're investing to make our British beef, lamb and pork more affordable for customers while continuing to support farmers through the long-term partnerships that provide confidence to invest in their businesses. At a time when British farmers are facing increasing pressure, we're proud to champion British produce, support high standards of welfare and quality, and help more customers choose British meat at M&S."
John Egerton, M&S Select Beef Farmer, said: "As farmers, we need confidence to invest in our businesses for the long term. M&S's commitment to British farming, backed by long-term partnerships and investment, helps provide that certainty. At a time when British farmers are facing increasing competition from imported products, it's great to see more customers being encouraged to choose high-quality British meat while knowing the farmers behind it continue to be supported."
The investment forms part of M&S' wider strategy to make it easier for customers to do more of their weekly shop at M&S, combining trusted value with the quality, sourcing standards and animal welfare standards customers expect.
