Craigavon food store transformation to be broadcast to homes across the UK in ITVX ‘Inside M&S at Christmas’ documentary

Northern Ireland viewers tuning into ITVX on Tuesday 16th December may spot some familiar faces and accents as ‘Inside M&S at Christmas’ returns to screens, with M&S Craigavon becoming the first store outside of England to star in the documentary.

‘Inside M&S at Christmas’ unveils the M&S magic powering the peak festive period, spotlighting behind-the-scenes dedication through planning, collaboration and “sleeves rolled up” energy for a “Best Ever” Christmas, from product creation and sourcing to a hero store transformation.

Last month, Craigavon opened the doors to its completely renewed and significantly expanded 15,300 sq ft food store, boasting a stunning, fresh, market-style layout that brings the full, great quality range of M&S Food to the local community. As part of the expansion, the store has welcomed more than 35 new colleagues just as the festive season gets underway.

Craigavon’s starring role showcases the team’s hard work as they race to launch the double-sized food store just in time for Christmas. Audiences will see store colleagues adding the final touches in the lead-up to opening day, with festive spirit from the Just Sing Choir from Portadown, M&S’s Best Ever Mince Pies from Genesis Bakery, special tote bags for the first 400 customers, and local legend Gerry Armstrong cutting the ribbon to welcome shoppers through the doors.

Ashley O’Reilly, Store Manager at M&S Craigavon, said: “The renewal project here in Craigavon has been incredibly exciting, and opening just before the busy Christmas period has given everyone a real lift. There’s been such a buzz around being part of the documentary, and we’re so proud that our colleagues, our store and our community will be showcased on screen. We can’t wait for customers to tune in and see what goes on behind the scenes.”
