Last week we held our Autumn Winter Press Preview Show at the historic London venue, One Marylebone. 

The objective of the event is to present highlights of our Clothing AW18 collections to consumer, online, national, regional and international press, bloggers and influencers, students, SPARKS customers, investors, store managers and colleagues.

Over three full days, over 900 guests attended and as Head of Design I was delighted once again to share our new ranges and trends with many of them. 

As market leader in lingerie it's a key part of my role to ensure that we are anticipating what women will want from their lingerie in the seasons ahead. It's a combination of global research with listening to customers which often sparks new concepts, so hearing feedback on our new collection at events like these is invaluable. 

At this season’s event we welcomed our store colleague winners of our recent Bra Fit event and it was super to hear what they are being asked for from their customers in their stores. I also shared key trends with our International PR and media from around the world at a press lunch, of course with delicious M&S food! 

Our new collection focusses on a foundation of style, comfort and flattering fit. 

I believe that the test of great underwear is that you should put it on at the beginning of the day and then to be able to forget about it! This is the criteria for comfort and fit which we apply to everything we design. 

New underwear this season include our Flexifit TM bra, designed to complement our customer favourite Flexifit TM Knickers. These pieces are designed using 360 degree stretch fabrics and developed to move with you to deliver on ultimate comfort. Velvet is a key fabric for AW 18 and we have trimmed and dressed beautiful lingerie pieces with this luxurious fabric. Look out too as colder weather approaches for our innovative Heatgen TM Velvet Thermal underplayed tops. The fabric has been exclusively developed by our clever fabric technical team and is a first on the high street. 

Rosie for Autograph lingerie is now in its sixth year in store and we are proud to have sold over 11 million pieces of Rosie lingerie since we launched this collection in 2012. The iconic silk lingerie is updated in sumptuous Autumnal colours and oriental inspired florals but we also add a brand new look incorporating a modern mix of point d'esprit mesh and French designed lace in chic tones trimmed with rose gold hardwear. 

Bras this season focus on a move to innovative wire free constructions including our first wire free push up, and knicker shapes are on the rise! No need for Bridget Jones knicker styles though ours are feminine, contemporary and flattering to wear.
