We want to help our customers reuse and recycle, as we deliver on our commitment to become a net zero business across our entire supply chain and our products by 2040.
As part of our plan to reduce our use of plastic and create a circular economy where we reuse and recycle as much as possible, we’re launching the first phase of our in-store Plastic Recycling Scheme in 100 stores from the end of October. The scheme will be rolled out to more stores in March 2022.
Customers can recycle plastic from any product, including those not bought at M&S, by placing them into our Plastic Recycling Units at their nearest stores. M&S will take care of the rest.

What can customers recycle?
Soft plastics are used in lots of packaging across different products, including crisp packets, yoghurt lids and sweet wrappers, but can be difficult to recycle at home.
If it’s on the list below and has been thoroughly cleaned at home, it can be collected and recycled by M&S
Where can plastic be recycled?
We currently have bins in 100 of our stores but look out for more to come in the future.

Our Plastic Recycling Scheme isn’t the only way we’re helping our customers to enjoy lower carbon lives. We’re tackling textile waste by rewarding our Sparks customers with a free treat when they donate their preloved clothing to our Shwopping partnership with Oxfam.
We’re also helping customers find alternative proteins that have great sustainability credentials and are responsibly sourced through our Plant Kitchen range.
