M&S Cheshire Oaks is the largest store we've ever built and it’s also one of the largest sustainable retail stores in the world. Designed to be the most carbon efficient premier store, it takes a holistic approach into key sustainability factors such as water, carbon, biodiversity, the community, materials and zero waste to landfill. It’s the third in a series of sustainable stores, following Ecclesall Road and Stratford City. It achieved a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating which is the leading and most widely used environmental assessment method.
It created employment opportunities in the area, many of them through our Marks & Start programme, which helps disadvantaged groups into the workplace. And of course, it brings our customers in Cheshire all our latest M&S staff standing in front of green wallranges, stylish homeware and award-winning food and drink.
