'Help us to beat cancer’
With more than 2.5 million people living with or beyond cancer in the UK today and that figure set to reach 4 million by 2030 we know just how important beating cancer is to our customers and employees.
That’s why we’ve supported our major cancer charity partners for many years aiming to help give holistic support to the fight against cancer.
Our 2015 activity will be even better than ever, you’ll be able to help us join the fight and spark something good - something exciting is coming soon!
Breast Cancer Now
Working with Breakthrough Breast Cancer since 2001 we’ve already helped raise an amazing £20m through product sales and employee and customer fundraising. These vital funds have supported their Generation Study, the world’s most comprehensive study into the causes of breast cancer. Through this work more women now survive breast cancer than 10 years ago! And we’re now continuing to help fight breast cancer with Breakthrough’s newly merged charity Breast Cancer Now.
Breast Cancer Now’s aim is to stop breast cancer for good by improving early diagnosis, developing new treatments and preventing all types of breast cancer. One in eight women will face it, research has made huge progress, but the number of people diagnosed will increase by 20% by 2030. The charity’s aim is that by 2050, no one will die from breast cancer -the day when no one dies from breast cancer is on its way, working together with BCN, we’ll get there faster
– watch out for how you can help join the fight – something exciting is coming soon!
Macmillan Cancer Support
Since 2010 our partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support has raised over £4million to help ensure that no one has to face cancer alone. With the support and enthusiasm of our employees and customers, we are able to help fund vital Macmillan services in local communities right across the UK.
We’re proud to be the headline sponsor for World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and we’re pulling out all the stops to make 2015 the best yet. Alongside employee fundraising and donations on cafe products, there will be a range of foodie treats and homeware available in stores throughout September, each carrying a donation to Macmillan.
Macmillan believes that no one should face cancer alone. That’s why, when you need someone to turn to, Macmillan are there. From the moment you’re diagnosed, through to treatment and beyond, they are a constant source of support, giving you the energy and inspiration to help you take back control of your life.
By 2020 almost 1 in 2 people will get cancer at some point in their lives. The demand for Macmillan professionals has never been higher but you can help us be there for even more people affected by cancer.
Working with the Marie Keating Foundation in The Republic of Ireland since 2002 we’ve helped raise over 1.7m euros which has enabled their nurses to reach 180,000 men & women around Ireland! The Foundation is now a leading voice in cancer awareness and vital information for men and women in Ireland with the aim of helping them to prevent cancer or detect it at its earliest stages. They also provide cancer services such as the Comfort Fund for people financially affected by cancer, and its new Survive and Thrive programme for men and women who are adjusting to the ‘new normal’ after coming through cancer treatment.
