Lifestyle Options
We recognise that, whatever job you do or whatever level you're at, you need to strike a balance between your work life and your home life.
So we've created a range of initiatives to help you do just that. They've been developed to support you throughout your career and many go way beyond our legal obligation as an employer. More information about these initiatives, including flexible working, how we support working parents and how we'll support you in your career can be found by using the links in the left hand navigation.
"The first thing you notice is how long people have worked here. There is a definite culture to join and stay, plus a real sense of loyalty."
Anna
To ensure everyone is up to speed on the range of choices and benefits available, we provide all our employees with a special booklet to explain their options. The areas and issues covered by the booklet include:
- Making career decisions;
- Having a family;
- Caring for someone close to you;
- Working in your local community;
- Being part of Business Involvement Groups;
- Moving to a different role within Marks & Spencer; and
- Health and family care.
We’ve also negotiated deals with some of the biggest names in health insurance to provide cover if you, or a member of your family, suffers from ill health. The schemes are offered at highly competitive rates – in some cases, at half the price you would pay as a private individual.
Home and leisure
Ensuring you make the most of your time out of work is also important to us. So, we’ve arranged a variety of special offers and exclusive discounts, many of which are exclusive to Marks & Spencer employees. These include money-off deals with RAC membership, discounted airport car parking and offers on holidays, theme parks and sports club membership.
