The following information is given subsequent to the announcement made on 9 September 2009 that John Dixon was appointed an executive director of Marks and Spencer Group plc with effect from 9 September 2009.

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 (1) of the Listing Rules, John Dixon has advised that he has held no other directorships in publicly quoted companies at any time in the previous 5 years.

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 (2)-(6) of the Listing Rules, he has advised that he has no details to disclose.
