Marks & Spencer Recruiting 12,500 this Christmas

Marks & Spencer is looking for 12,500 extra employees during the run up to and over the busy Christmas period. In order to attract the right people, successful applicants will need to show their willingness to delight customers and support their team.

Using a new recruitment process, applicants are being asked to call their local Marks & Spencer recruitment telephone number (found on in-store posters and leaflets), where they will have a conversation with a Marks & Spencer recruitment specialist. The aim of this phone interview is to paint a realistic picture of the exciting environment of Marks & Spencer at Christmas in order to find people who possess the qualities to contribute to making this Marks & Spencer's best Christmas yet.

Catherine Muirden, Head of Recruitment, said:
"Marks & Spencer is an amazing place in the run-up to Christmas. To share our enjoyment with shoppers, we need people who can build an instant rapport with customers no matter how busy the store and who will be flexible enough to support their colleagues in whatever way is necessary. I think anyone who joins our team has to be special because we want our customers to notice the difference."

In return for being prepared to work at least one evening a week and at weekends, taking on responsibility when required and facing challenges with enthusiasm, Marks & Spencer will provide a competitive benefit package including a Christmas discount card.
