It has been confirmed today that on 30 May 2003, 136,400 shares were purchased by the Marks & Spencer Employee Benefit Trust to cover future commitments under the Share Matching Plan. This Plan is open to a number of senior employees, including the following individuals who, as potential beneficiaries under the Plan and directors of the company, are deemed to be interested in the shares whilst they are held in trust: L Vandevelde, R Holmes, J King, D Norgrove, L Powers-Freeling and A Reed.
