Extending the M&S Brand

Our brand is one of our biggest assets. Working with trusted partners we have extended the M&S brand to new product areas.

M&S Bank Logo M&S Bank launched in September 2012 on the foundations of M&S Money, which was established 29-years’ ago, to bring the trusted Marks & Spencer brand values to banking. M&S Bank offers a new style of banking which puts the customer first and provides straightforward financial products with great customer service.

M&S Bank offers a broad range of financial products, which includes the M&S Credit Card, M&S Travel Money, personal loans, and a range of savings and insurance products. The M&S Current Accounts are the latest addition to our product range and have been designed specifically for the M&S customer. All M&S Bank branches are located in M&S stores and are open seven days a week and often late in the evening.

In November 2004, HSBC bought 100 per cent of the share capital of Marks and Spencer Retail Financial Services Holdings Limited. Today, M&S Bank operates as a joint venture arrangement between HSBC and Marks & Spencer, however, M&S Bank retains its own board.

M&S EnergyWe launched M&S Energy in 2008, working with SSE, one of the UK’s leading energy companies. M&S Energy offers customers great value gas and electricity, with simple tariffs and excellent customer service from a brand they already know and trust. Like M&S, SSE champions environmental responsibility and works hard to cut carbon emissions and reduce energy use: it generates more renewable energy than anyone else in the UK and Ireland.
